Planning on building another Guitar... (pic)

Carvin has a sale on their kit parts right now, so I'm thinking of putting together a "no bullshit functional machine" design.



No pretty-boy stuff... satin finish on the hardware, no inlays, walnut body with maple neck and ebony fingerboard. All the woodgrain shows everywhere and plenty of custom body carving from a standard Stratocaster shape.

Thoughts?

I just thought of some more contouring and such that I can do to the face of the guitar.... I've got a couple more items on ebay and as soon as they sell (one guitar amp has bids on it and will end this weekend) I'll order what I need for this one. [img]smile.gif[/img]

mine spent 8 months in a closet and got pretty beat up, so i'm thinking about sanding it down and repainting it.

bare bones is the way to go.

I just came up with a cool idea that will really add a classy look to the instrument.

The fingerboard is made of ebony.... I'll see if I can get a big enough piece of wood and cover the headstock (the maple coloured part at the end of the neck).

Then the guitar would look entirely made of wood and metal (no plastic) [img]smile.gif[/img]
